Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion, also known as TLIF
TLIF is a spinal procedure used to treat lower back pain caused by problems in the disc, nerves, and facet joints. During the procedure, pressure is relieved from the affected nerves, and the painful spinal level is stabilised through fusion. The aim is to create a stronger, more stable spine segment while helping to reduce pain and improve function.
Anterior Cervical Decompression and Fusion or Disc Replacement
These neck procedures are performed to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots. This pressure can cause symptoms such as neck pain, arm pain, numbness, pins and needles, or weakness. In some cases, fusion may be recommended to stabilise the spine. In suitable patients, artificial disc replacement may be offered as an alternative option to help maintain movement in the neck.
Cervical Tubular Foraminotomy
Cervical tubular foraminotomy is a targeted procedure used to create more space around a compressed nerve in the neck. A small section of bone or tissue near the nerve opening is removed to reduce pressure on the nerve. This can help relieve symptoms such as pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness that may travel into the shoulder, arm, or hand.
